About our school

Welcome to Westlawn Public School. Westlawn is an excellent public school which serves the Grafton community on the North Coast of NSW. Our student enrolment is 490.

Westlawn is large enough to provide a diverse range of educational programs and opportunities yet small enough to cater for the individual needs of students while maintaining a friendly, family atmosphere. We are enormously proud of the strong reputation our school has for providing a quality learning environment in which our students thrive in academic, sporting and cultural areas.

We teach children values including showing respect towards themselves and others; accepting responsibility for what is said and done; being honest, polite and fair; being tolerant of others; and cooperation. Children are reminded to make appropriate choices and to understand that there are consequences for the choices made.

Our teachers are highly skilled, sensitive and caring, and are continuously upgrading their teaching skills to enhance the teaching and learning programs we offer our students. Our teachers and office staff are very approachable and supportive towards parents and students. Students are always welcome to come and discuss their concerns with me, and to share their ideas and successes. Our focus is clearly on the welfare and education of our students.

Our aim is for all families to have an enjoyable and rewarding association with our school. We welcome parents and community members to be actively involved in our school programs and activities. We value parental support and see parents as a most important part of the team as we work together to 'strive to achieve' the best possible outcomes for our children.

We invite you to peruse our school website to gain an insight into the spirit and culture of Westlawn Public School, and also to visit us for an actual tour so that you can experience this for yourself.
